My 1st day in the park the wind was blowing over 70k/hr and it was a very bumpy journey on the catamaran across Lake Pehoe. The waves came right over the top of the boat which 
kept slamming down on the water. The vividly-coloured lakes here are formed from melted glaciers - turquoise, ultramarine and pistachio expanses, the colour created by minute powdery particles held in suspension.
