Huerquehue National Park

Hiked in this park of lakes and lush forests all day. These ancient araucaria trees are extraordinary and reminded me of the monkey puzzle tree - they can live to be 3,000 years old. Wispy moss hung

in feathery strands from their trunks - it was a beautiful and mystical place - I was expecting elves and pixies to appear from under the foliage. They must've cast their ancient magic on me 'cause all of a sudden I could fly through the forest.

  3. Fi, that is a great pic of you flying! The wispy moss reminds me of the 'old man's beard' (la barba del papá I think the guide called it?) whilst trekking in Venezuela, very surreal.
