BUENOS AIRES!

Enough trekking! Flew from El Calafate to Buenos Aires and met up with Naomi, the Australian girl I'd gone cycling with in Puerto Varas and her native friend, Malisa. I'm shedding the trainers and rucksack and slipping seemlessly into a dress and heels... and it feels sooo good! The temperature here is perfect, hot during the day and warm enough to sit out at night without a jacket. The city's original name, 'Santa Maria del Buen Ayre' was a recognition of the good winds which brought sailors across the ocean.

  1. Hi Fizz-

What a cool blog...I stumbled on it today and have really been enjoying your stories...

Sorry to use your blog comments as a way to contact Anita but the email address I have for her is no longer valid. I'm copying an email I attempted to send her here in the hopes that you will be able to get the message to her. Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your travels!

    Hi Anita-

I hope this is still your email address!!

I don't know if any one is at Broadlands to hear it but I left a voice message...I'm coming to England!! I know I've been terrible about keeping in touch but hopefully we'll have a chance to catch up with each other in person! I arrive April 16 and return to the States on May 4.

It's a spur-of-the-moment trip to help a friend who is jammed up working on a very large mosaic commission. So I'm flying over to work with him. His studio is in Southeast London (Woolwich) and I'm staying with a friend of a friend who has a flat directly across the Thames (at the Royal Docks, just east of London City Airport). I've committed to work with him to the end of April (or earlier depending on our progress), which means I will be slamming with him during the day but will have the evening's free. Then I'm totally free for those first few days in May. I was hoping to get a chance to see you and a bunch of the other Roedean "girls," if it can be arranged. Except for Delphine (who is still in Sheffield), I don't have anyone else's contact info. Bummer!

I found Fizz's travel blog and have thoroughly enjoyed reading many of her posts and seeing so many wonderful photos of the two of you. I'm so happy to see that you are still living the good life! It sounded as if you were heading to Dubai but there was no indication for how long. I really, really hope you'll be in the London area while I'm there. I would love to see you, my dear friend.
