Volcàn Osorno, Puerto Varas

Heading south I've landed in Puerto Varas on Lago Llanquihue, Chile's 2nd largest lake. I was sitting having dinner looking out of the window at the sunset over the perfect cone of Volcàn Osorno - it resembled an oil painting with the colours changing hues, light fading into stillness. There was only one other person in the restaurant - everywhere is so quiet - normally many European tourists arrive here in March but over 80% have cancelled their trips because of the earthquake. Local businesses that rely on tourism are having a tough time.
