Arriving back in the charming, picturesque jungle town of Rurrenabaque (or 'Rurre' as the locals call it), I was delighted to hear that a 5-day festival was just beginning, celebrating the town´s 166th birthday. Although to my ears the music was monotonous, repetitive, out of tune and out of rhythm, this didn´t detract from the atmosphere and everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves, dancing in the streets alongside the bands.
