Chalalan Lake

The lodge is situated on this beautiful lake and I could hardly wait to slither into the water and cool off. I swam to the other side and back and even though the guide had assured me the caimans only feed at night, I was ever so slightly nervous and kept scanning the surface for an approaching set of reptilian eyes gliding towards me. He said the sardines might nibble me a bit but that it wouldn't hurt - I'm sure his level of pain tolerance is a lot higher than mine.
