Took the night bus from La Paz to Sucre and panicked when told that the on-board loo was out-of-order so I asked the bus driver to please stop which he did and I just had to go behind a tree at the side of the road. Didn't drink any water, we stopped again at 2.30am and then I made it through the rest of the night, waking only to the sound of screeching tyres, horns blaring and the bus hurling over to one side of the road obviously to avoid an oncoming vehicle, nothing unusual on Bolivian roads. Seeing another approaching bus or truck is unnerving when the roads are so narrow. Buses crash or go over the side of precipices and night drivers fall asleep fairly regularly here so I just said a prayer and went back to sleep.
