Stepping from the boat onto the river bank, we had a half hour walk up this trail to the lodge. I was in the Amazonian Rainforest Basin! Brazil is usually assocatiated with the Amazon, but its tributaries and tendrils extend into 8 other countries, including Bolivia. The plantlife here is unimaginably diverse : 1 in every 4 plants on earth grow here and the Amazonian Rainforest and it is home to the world´s largest eagle, snake, anteater, armadillo, spider, fresh-water turtle and fresh-water fish. The tropical heat was intense but I enjoyed every bead of sweat.
