This is the Salar de Atacama, the Chilean Salt Lake at 2,300m above sea level. The air is so dry you can see all the way across it. There are 3 types of flamingoes here : the Andean, Chilean and the James which feed on single-celled algae and micro invertebrates. Sunday, 21 February 2010
