Back on the canoe to visit forested islands and shady lagoons where we fished for piranha using a small piece of wood to which was attached a length of fishing line, a hook and a small chunk of meat chucked over the side of the boat. I didn´t catch any, preferring to birdwatch, but some
were successful, and the bootywas cooked up with our lunch. Not much meat on piranha, but what we could salvage from the bones was very tasty. The others looked on in horror as I sucked what I could out of the fishes´heads - the best part!
